here lies the tremendous mystery - that God should be all-powerful, yet refuse to coerce. he summons us to cooperation. we are honoured in being given the opportunity to participate in his good deeds. Remember how He asked for help in performing his miracles : Fill the waterpots, stretch out your hand, distribute thte loaves.-Elizabeth Elliot

patience

Patience, it is one of those things we aren't born with because when we want something we want it now. Why is this? because of our selfish desires that are sin.

When we talk to God our first expectaition is that we will get an answer immediatelly, we also think that we will always hear from him but that is not the case.

Relationships are something we have to work at. whether it be with a boy or with any of your friends. We have to get to know them, understand them, know what they are doing with their lives, and what their dreams are. Without knowing this you don't really know the other person. This is the same with God. If I were to say that Jesus was my best friend I had better know everything about him just like he knows everything about me. but do I? do I really know everything he does, what his dreams are, and what he is doing. How would I know this if I don't see him? Haven't you heard of the Bible, the holy words from God's own mouth? We think of Christ as a person to request things from but that isn't all he deserves. He deserves our respect our worship and our praise. If your friend were to write a book wouldn't you be the first one to read it? Of course because you would want to know what your friend was doing. So why don't we dig into the Bible? are we to busy? is it not interesting? This is where we fall. We need to be in the word learning more about our savior.

So the next time you feel like God is absent, go to the word and find an application from what you read because that will be how you learn more about your friend, and hear from him because he is all that matters

All in his timing

This last sunday my highschool pastor spoke about how when you are in God's word you will see his work. This was very true for my week.
On Monday we were off to a debate tournament in St. Louis MO. The tournament was starting the next day. We were about an hour out of Omaha when there was a weird smoke coming from the car. We pulled to the side of the road and had to call a tow truck. We were then taken to mound city where we stayed for 5 hours. But through all this God blessed our group immensly. I brought coloring books so that is how we spent a lot of our time. The transmission had blown so we couldn't leave that day. we knew no one nearby and were concerned we would not make it to the tournament. Rental cars were too expensive and we had to all be prepared to just head back home when it was possible. But God had a bigger plan. We called the tournament director and let her know the situation and she called someone from St. Joe that may be able to help us. Not only did this family from St. Joe pick us up they let us use their van for the trip. The Hund family is such a blessing!
We then were able to head off to St. Louis. but this wasnt the end of God's work. He got us there safely helped all of the speech scripts pass through registration and then helped us speak as debaters.
Natalie Schneider and Alatheia Larsen broke in many events but my sister and i didn't break. this was kind of sad but we knew it was God's will.
At the awards ceremony God blessed me with something so unexpected, 6th place speaker.
God's work was very aparent this last week and any doubts I have recently had have been diminished =]
hope God works in your life as much

Waiting on the Lord for direction. This last year has been hard for me in many ways. First I met a boy who I thought was the one. He was an amazing guy but because of that I looked past his attitude and his demeanor. I looked past the arrogance and I began to go out with him in February. This last October I got back to reality and realized that he definately wasnt the one, and this all went on behind my parents back. This hurt and I had to cry out to God to be my guide.
I am now waiting for the right one and learning that God has the best for me. I need to follow him im everything which can be hard.
